Reagan Rutherford Ends Kentucky Volleyball Career, Enters Portal

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Reagan Rutherford of the Kentucky Volleyball team has announced that she will be entering the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer for the 2024 season.

Rutherford leaves Kentucky as a 2020 NCAA National Championship winner, as well as a four-time Southeastern Conference champion. This season, Rutherford averaged 3.47 kills per set in her 78 set appearances with 1.53 digs per set and 0.90 blocks per set. She was voted to the All-SEC team for the third time in her career and earlier this month was named All-Region and was named an American Volleyball Coaches’ Association All-American for the first time in her career in 2022.

“Coaching Reagan at Kentucky was a tremendous experience.” UK head coach Craig Skinner said. “She has embodied all that is has meant to be a Wildcat both on and off the floor and leaves our program a national champion and four-time conference champion. We wish Reagan the best moving forward as she pursues a graduate degree and thank her for her time in Lexington.”

“First, I want to thank God because I am so blessed that I found a home at Kentucky the last four years.” Rutherford said. “I have learned many life lessons from Craig and my community in Lexington. I want to thank my teammates, the UK staff and the Big Blue Nation for being supportive, authentic and making my experience so special. I am so grateful to have been a Wildcat and I will always have a deep love for the University of Kentucky.”
