No. 4 Kentucky Travels to No. 19 South Carolina

Coming off its first Southeastern Conference series loss but still in first place in the standings, the No. 4 Kentucky baseball team once again stares down the barrel at another ranked league opponent as it makes a trip to No. 19 South Carolina.

After a long road trip and high-level top three series against Tennessee the Wildcats (32-7, 15-3 SEC) enjoyed a week with no midweek game to recharge their batteries for the stretch run, which begins Friday at Founders Park in Columbia. First pitch in Game 1 is at 7 p.m. ET on SECN+.

UK smashed nine home runs last weekend, including six in a see-saw affair on Sunday, but couldn’t hold off the vaunted Volunteers’ offense and SEC Player of the Week Christian Moore. Still, UK remains 3.0 games up in the Eastern Division standings and one up on Arkansas in the overall league race.

The Cats will be looking to get its pitching staff back on track, particularly starters Dominic Niman and Mason Moore. In addition, they’ll try to keep Ryan Waldschmidt, who sports a six-game multi-hit streak, going.

The Saturday (6 p.m.) and Sunday (3 p.m.) games will be aired live on the SEC Network.
