Volleyball Wraps Up Spring Slate at Northwestern
April 12, 2002 LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Kentucky volleyball team will conclude its four-week spring exhibition schedule on Saturday, April 13 at the Northwestern Spring Challenge in Evanston, Ill. Also participating in the tournament are host Northwestern, Loyola-Chicago, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Valparaiso, Bowling Green, Western Michigan and Ferris State. Kentucky opens the day against Valparaiso. The tournament will be played in pool-play format with each match consisting of two 30-point games. Teams will face all three teams in the opposite pool and one team in its pool. The Wildcats are coming off a second-place finish in their home tournament last weekend. UK finished with a 5-3 record, while Morehead State won the event with a 6-2 mark. This is the fourth and final weekend of spring exhibition season which allows teams a chance to play together one last time before breaking for summer. UK opens its 2002 fall schedule over Labor Day weekend in the Hofstra Invitational.
