TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of Kentucky volleyball team won its non-conference match against Florida A & M on Friday night with a 3-0 shutout of the Rattlerettes in FAMU’s Gaither Gym. Scores of the games were 15-12, 15-4 and 15-12.

Kentucky (13-11, 5-6 Southeastern) will now prepare for the real test of the weekend, a re-match with No. 4 Florida on Sunday in Gainesville.

Like so many times this season, the Cats were led by senior Katie Eiserman who recorded a game-high 21 kills for a .400 hitting percentage. Eiserman also posted 11 digs in the match and is now just six digs shy of the all-time school record. Her total of 1,134 digs puts her just five behind the current leader, Ann Hall who recorded 1,139 from 1989-1993. The Lake Bluff, Ill. native should set the UK record on Sunday at Florida.

FAMU (17-6, 6-0 Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference) played the Cats tight in the first and third games, but could not match UK’s firepower in the end. UK middle blocker Jaclyn Homan made a successful return to the lineup as she recorded seven kills on 16 attacks for a .438 hitting percentage. Homan had been sidelined since Sept. 23 with a broken finger in her attacking hand.
