Brett Versen joined the Wildcat coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in the summer of 2012.
Versen was a standout volleyball player at Ohio State from 2004-08, finishing his career ranking among the all-time bests in numerous categories. He capped his collegiate career ranking 21st in Buckeye allure with 2.66 kills per set, 14th in aces with 61, 19th in hitting percentage at .286, ninth in aces per frame at 0.25 and 19th in points per set with an average of 3.34.
In his senior campaign he was tabbed a Volleyball Magazine All-America honorable mention selection while earning MIVA first-team honors. Versen averaged 4.45 points per set with career-high in kills (362) and blocks (84).
A four-time Academic All-Big Ten member, Versen graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio State in 2009.
Prior to returning to the coaching ranks, Versen spent four years working in the engineering field. He is married to Marisa Main, who was a three-time All-America volleyball player for the Buckeyes.
