03/19/2012 Robbe Joins Volleyball Staff as Director of OperationsFormer standout at Dayton joins Skinner's staff Sara Sjuts enters her eighth season with Kentucky volleyball, serving as the team's director of operations. She served in a similar student role for four years at the University of Nebraska. Sjuts is responsible for managing daily office functions, coordinating team travel and administrating summer camp programs. She also assists in recruiting functions and budget management and oversees the office's student workers. "Sara is involved in all facets of our program," UK Coach Craig Skinner said. "I have complete trust in her to oversee all administrative aspects of our program. She is extremely important to the success of UK volleyball." Sjuts, 28, spent her entire undergraduate career at Nebraska working as an assistant to the Director of Volleyball Operations. While with the Huskers, Sjuts worked closely with UK coach Craig Skinner and former assistant Jenae Dowling. She was on staff in 2000 when Nebraska claimed the NCAA title as well. She graduated from Nebraska in December 2004 with a degree in business administration and took a position with a publishing company before coming to UK. Sjuts completed her master's of business administration in the summer of 2011 from Morehead State. A native of York, Neb., Sjuts was active in volleyball, basketball, softball and track in high school. She resides in Lexington. |
