Anders Nelson
	Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach Years at UK: First season

Anders Nelson begins his first season working with the Kentucky volleyball program.

Nelson is a former All-America middle attacker for Ball State. He earned a degree in finance and accounting from Ball State in 2011.

In his senior campaign, Nelson was tabbed the "Off the Block National Blocker of the Year," runner-up while serving as the team's captain. Nelson capped his senior campaign ranking fourth in the country in total blocks while spearheading the Cardinals' defensive prowess which topped the nation in blocking.

Nelson most recently served as an assistant coach for the Munciana Volleyball Club 18-1s. The team posted a 66-2 overall record en route to claiming the 2011 AAU 18 Open National Championship.

As a varsity assistant coach at Muncie Burris Laboratory High School, Nelson helped direct the squad to a 79-0 overall mark and back-to-back state championships. Between the 2009 and 2010 seasons, he helped direct nine all-state players.

Furthermore, Nelson paired with his sister, 2006 All-American Meredith Nelson, to develop a three-day camp in their hometown of St. Croix Falls, Wisc. The camp serviced more than 175 athletes. The duo assembled a camp coaching staff that consisted of six Division I players, while also forming a competitive camp that included three-on-three tournaments and team tournaments.

Nelson began his involvement on the Division I level while at Minnesota from 2006-08. Nelson served as the treasurer for the men's club squad, while also offering his assistance to the women's varsity program as a student statistical analyst. In his first season working with the Golden Gophers, the women marched to the Elite Eight under Hall of Fame coach Mike Hebert.
