LEXINGTON, Ky. – As the calendar turns to March, the Southeastern Conference women’s tennis schedule is ready to begin. Kentucky will open its conference schedule at home at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center against Ole Miss on Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
The Cats, winners of two of their past three, are coming off a heartbreaking defeat against Indiana, 4-3, and will be looking to open their SEC schedule on the right foot.
Senior Megan Broderick, sophomore Jessica Stiles and freshman Caitlin McGraw each lead the Wildcats with five singles victories in dual-match play. Stiles and McGraw have each won three-straight singles matches.
Broderick has teamed up with Stiles to win two doubles matches, and freshman Khristina Blajkevitch. Blajkevitch has won two other doubles matches with fellow freshman Cece Witten.
For Ole Miss, Caroline Rohde-Moe is 6-1 playing in the top half of the lineup, and Vivian Vlaar is 7-0 at No. 5 and 6 singles. Seniors Connor Vogel and Laura van de Stroet have combined for a 10-4 dual match record, Vogel is 5-2 at No. 1 and 2 singles and van de Stroet is 5-2 at No. 4 and 5 singles. Ole Miss enters Friday’s match on a three-match winning streak and is 5-2 on the season.
Free blue UK tennis balls will be given to the first 20 fans in attendance.
