Kentucky Women's Tennis Faces Penn State

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will host Penn State on Sunday morning at the Lexington Tennis Club at 10 a.m.
The Wildcats are coming off a 5-2 win on the road against Marshall on Friday. After losing the doubles point, Kentucky stormed back by claiming five of six singles matches. Senior Jessica Stiles and junior Caitlin McGraw ignited the Wildcats’ comeback, quickly clinching the first two singles points in two sets.
Through three matches, Kentucky has three individuals that are 3-0 in singles play to go along with two that boast a 2-0 record in singles play.
Freshman Nadia Ravita is 3-0 on the year in the No. 1 singles slot while fellow freshman Kirsten Lewis has also failed to drop a singles match in 2013. Sophomore Stephanie Fox’s 6-1, 6-3 win at Marshall improved her record to 3-0.
The Nittany Lions enter Sunday’s match with a 3-0 record and as UK’s first ranked opponent of the year, coming in at No. 48 in the ITA’s latest rankings. They opened the season with 5-2 wins over Middle Tennessee State and Akron before defeating Temple 6-1.
