No. 46 Kentucky Women's Tennis Falls 6-1 at No. 28 Tennessee

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Kentucky women's tennis team lost 6-1 on Friday at No. 28 Tennessee, while freshman Nadia Ravita recorded her sixth win of the year over a ranked opponent.
Kentucky went down early after dropping the doubles point. Joanna Henderson and Caitlyn Williams took the doubles match on court two to open the day for Tennessee, defeating Edmée Morin-Kougoucheff and Cece Witten 8-2.
The doubles point was clinched on court one as Brynn Boren and Kata Szekely defeated Jessica Stiles and Caitlin McGraw 8-3 to give the Vols an early 1-0 lead. The No. 3 doubles match was abandoned at the double point's decision.
Tennessee went up 2-0 with a quick singles win on court four. Joanna Henderson defeated Kentucky freshman Kirsten Lewis 6-1, 6-1.
Stephanie Fox fell 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles position to increase the Tennessee lead to 3-0.
The Vols clinched the match on court three as Morin-Kougoucheff went down 6-2, 6-3 to allow Tennessee to earn its fourth, and match-clinching, point.
The two teams played out the match past decision.
Freshman Nadia Ravita recorded another resume-building win, defeating No. 20 Brynn Boren in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. Ranked No. 38, the win was Ravita's sixth singles win over a ranked opponent on the year.
Senior Jessica Stiles dropped the No. 2 singles point in two close sets, losing the first set 7-6 and the second 6-4. Court five was the final match to finish, with Mimi Fotopoulos defeating Caitlin McGraw 7-6, 7-5 to conclude the match at 6-1.
Kentucky will now travel to Georgia to face the Bulldogs on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs are now 11-2 on the year and 4-1 in the SEC. The Bulldogs have two individuals in the top-20, with Lauren Herring ranked No. 7 and Maho Kowase ranking 17th.
