Softball Star Selected First-Team GTE Academic All-District IV

LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Kentucky softball player Leslie Kwiatkowski has been named to the first-team GTE Academic All-District IV University Division softball team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district.
Kwiatkowski, a junior majoring in accounting, will appear on the national ballot for the GTE Academic All-American along with the other 11 first-team all-district selections. The South Bend, Ind., native was a second-team selection in 1999. She broke six UK single-season marks this year and earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors.
Sophomores Angie Dal Pozzo and Beth Fogle were named to the GTE Academic All-District second-team.
Dal Pozzo, a native of Livingston, Ill., is majoring in pre-physical therapy. Dal Pozzo started in 57 games for the Cats and hit .287 with nine doubles and a home run.
Majoring in marketing, Fogle hit .315 this season, third best on the team
and stole 13 bases, while tying the UK single-season mark for sacrifice
