Kara Dill is in her first season as the volunteer assistant coach after a successful four-year career with UK going down in the record boos as one of the school's greatest leadoff hitters.
Dill, who completed her playing eligibility last spring, finished her career with the eighth-most hits (201), sixth-most stolen bases (57), fifth-best batting average (.33) and seventh-most runs (119), and was injured her senior season or her career totals would be significantly higher.
The native of LaGrange, Ohio, set a UK program record her freshman season with a 15-game hitting streak ending the year with 71 hits, which is the fifth most for a UK player in single-season history.
Dill, will help the full-time softball staff with all aspects of the program, including mentoring Kentucky's slap hitters, which is a role she began last season while she was injured.
