LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s soccer standout Arin Gilliland has been selected to blog the 2013 UK women’s soccer season of NCAA women’s soccer for nationally recognized ESPNW.com, it was announced on Friday afternoon.

Gilliland will be making an entry into the blog once every two weeks, sharing her thoughts of how the Wildcats are playing, what it’s like to be in the Kentucky women’s soccer program on and off the field, what it’s like to travel with the team and other fun material as the season unfolds.

ESPNW.com is well known for its series of popular blogs, including Olympic Gold Medalist Kerri Walsh, two-time NCAA Final Four qualifier, Skylar Diggins, World Cup runner-up, Carli Lloyd and World Cup champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, Julie Foudy.

After tearing her ACL in the 2011 Southeastern Conference Tournament, Gilliland recovered with a record-setting season in 2012, leading the Wildcats in goals (7), assists (7), points (21), shots on goal (23) and game-winning goals (3).

Gilliland was also selected to participate in the US Women’s National Team Training Camp in California during the April and May training months, where she trained with the best soccer players in the world, looking to earn a spot on the USWNT full team.
