LEXINGTON, Kty. - The 14th-ranked University of Kentucky women's soccer team capped an outstanding regular season on Sunday with a 1-0 double-overtime victory over the visiting 19th-ranked Michigan Wolverines on Senior Day at the UK Soccer Complex.

Freshman forward Keri Boyce scored the game-winning goal at the 112:07 mark in the second overtime as UK (16-2-1) claimed its 15th straight win of the season, the second longest winning streak in the country. Boyce's game-winner was her second of the weekend and her sixth of the season, breaking the UK school record for game-winning goals in a season.

The Cats got their revenge from last season's finale, a heartbreaking 1-0 loss in Ann Arbor, as the Wolverines netted a 15-yard shot with just five seconds remaining in the match.

UM (13-5-1) pressured the Cats from the beginning but with 30 minutes remaining in the second half, UK took control of the tempo. In the first overtime, the Cats had two breakaways but were unable to convert on either attempt.

Sophomore Annie Gage won a ball back on the right side of the goal and found Boyce at the top of the Wolverines' box. Boyce found an opening in front of the goal where she fired a seven-yard shot into the upper left corner of the net for the win. UK goalkeeper Beth Wells posted her seventh shutout of the season, the second highest single-season total in UK history.

"I cannot say enough about this team," UK coach Warren Lipka said. "They showed so much fight and determination, and their incredible hard work showed in the end today. We don't have long to enjoy this one because we open the SEC Tournament on Thursday."

UK's four seniors, Hope Deutschle, Brooke Hergesell, Allison Peppers, and Deanna Stayton were honored before the match in a special ceremony.

The All-Tournament team consisted of UK's Boyce, Peppers, Wells, and Jen Reese, along with Kacy Beitel, Shannon Poole, and Carissa Stewart from UM, Nicole Lee and Dana Larson from Minnesota, and Missy Keller and Melissa McGee from Alabama.

UK returns to action at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, when the Cats face Georgia in first-round action at the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tenn.
