Bodem, a former All-American at UK, will serve as a volunteer assistant this season.

Bodem, former UK gymnast Jenny Hansen and current gymnast Aronda Primault are the only GymKats to achieve All-America honors. Bodem was the fifth UK gymnast to qualify for an NCAA Championship.

Bodem also coaches at the club level at All-American Gymnastics in Lexington. Bodem's previous experiences coaching at the club level as well as ages 6-through-elite level give her a solid base for coaching at the collegiate level.

"Coaching within the program that I competed for has been great," Bodem said. "Being a part of the system allows me to relate to the athletes on more that one level. I feel like that becomes an asset for me when we're in the gym."

Bodem graduated in December of 1997 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotions. She married Brian Bodem in October 2001 and resides in Lexington.
