Coach Little on Karla "Since arriving as a walk-on, Karla has improved and has proven she can get it done. She earned a spot competing on beam her first year and she continues to improve. Karla adds a lot to our program and we appreciate the contributions she makes. She has shown great leadership as captain and should see some action on beam this season."
2002 Season: Co-captain saw limited action on the balance beam… Entered the beam lineup at the Bahama Breeze Invitational… Performed four exhibition routines on beam scoring a season-high 9.775 against Alabama (3/8/02)… Inducted into UK’s prestigious Society of Character… Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
2001 Season: Member of beam lineup for most of season... Scored a career-high 9.725 on beam twice - at home vs. Illinois (2/10/01) and in near upset of Alabama in Tuscaloosa (2/24/01)... Named an NACGC/W Academic All-American.
2000 Season: Saw limited action during her freshman campaign... Made three strong appearances on balance beam during the final meets of the season, posting a 9.558 average... Named an NACGC/W Academic All-American.
Pre-College: Graduated from Cherry Creek High School... 1999 Level 10 Colorado State Beam Champion.... 1997 Level 9 Colorado State Vault Champion... 1997 Level 9 State Floor Runner-up... Qualified for regional competition 1996-99.
