LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team is set to kick off their 2012 fall season Sept. 10-12 at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational in West Point, Miss. The Wildcats enter their third season under the direction of head coach Golda Johansson Borst.

“We are really excited to be at Old Waverly for our first tournament of the fall,” Borst said. “This is a great venue and I know Mississippi State will do a great job of hosting this week.”

The tournament will run from Sept. 10-12 and will include a round of 18 each day. Action will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, with split tee times.

The Cats’ lineup will include junior Liz Breed, senior Heather Lott, freshman Meghan McDougall, freshman Cylia Damerau and senior Ashleigh Albrecht, while freshman Sarah Harris will play as an individual. Seniors Betsie Johnson and Megan Moir also return for the Cats this season.

“We have prepared well throughout this past week and I know we are ready to play some great golf,” Borst mentioned. “This is an event that the team has been looking forward to for a long time and I am confident that we will start it off on the right foot.”

Players will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday to complete the 54-hole, stroke-play tournament. All times are Eastern.

Joining the Wildcats in the invitational will be No. 23 Arkansas, Cincinnati, Kennesaw State, Memphis, Mississippi State, Murray State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tulane and USF.
