LEXINGTON, Ky. - Nailing a 95-yard eagle in the final round of match play, senior Heather Lott won the Louisiana Women's Golf Amateur Championship at Beau Chene Country Club in Mandeville, La., winning in dramatic fashion on the 18th green.

The Baton Rouge, La., native finished runner-up in the 2011 LWGA Amateurs, missing a match-tying putt on the 18th green to finish in second. Lott's 2012 victory was sealed when runner-up, Julie Harrison, missed a short putt on 18. Harrison has finished second on five different occasions, also winning the event in 2004.

Lott reached the semifinals for a third consecutive year, winning with a 2-and-1 victory in the quarterfinals. To make her way to the championship match, Lott nailed a putt on the 18th green to earn a win in the semifinals.

As a junior, Lott finished the 2011-12 campaign for the Wildcats with a 78.17 scoring average, competing in all 10 events for Kentucky. Lott's best finish came at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational, finishing in a tie for 21st. Lott's lowest score came at the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational, shooting a 12-over-par 222.

With 80 rounds played in her career as a Wildcat, Lott is tied for 8th in program history with 5 par or better rounds.
