OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will travel to Oxford, Miss., this weekend to play in the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate, April 5-7 at the Ole Miss Golf Course. The event is the fourth and final tournament of the spring for the Wildcats before the Southeastern Conference Tournament and is a 54-hole stroke play event with a round of 18 scheduled for each day.
The Wildcats lineup will feature seniors Ashleigh Albrecht, Betsie Johnson, Heather Lott and Megan Moir, along with freshman Sarah Harris. Junior Liz Breed will compete in the invitational as an individual.
“We are looking forward to playing at the Rebel Intercollegiate event this weekend,” head coach Golda Johansson Borst said. “It is our last regular season event and we can't wait to finish strong.”
The Wildcats placed eighth in their previous tournament at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, March 22-24. Albrecht was the low finisher for the Cats, placing tied for seventh at 8-over-par. It was the Murrieta, Calif., native’s second top-10 finish of the year and her first of the spring.
The field will consist of 18 teams with three ranked in the top-30 in Golfweek’s latest rankings, including No. 27 Baylor, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Harvard, No. 25 LSU, Memphis, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Murray State, Ole Miss, Redlands CC, Southern Miss, Troy, No. 20 Tulane and Tulsa.
Teams will tee off at 8:51 a.m. ET both Friday and Saturday and at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday with a shotgun start.
The Rebel Intercollegiate is the final event of the spring for the Wildcats before they compete in the SEC Tournament, April 19-21 in Birmingham, Ala.
