Women's Golf Finishes Second Round

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Kentucky women's golf team wrapped up the second round of the 2012 Bryan National Collegiate Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C. The Wildcats shot a 21-over-par 309 in the second round, leaving them in 14th at 37-over-par 613 on the weekend.
Sophomore Liz Breed led Kentucky in the second round with an even-par 72. Breed sunk two birdies en route to a 15-stroke improvement from day one, including nailing one of the day's just two birdies on the challenging par-4 seventh hole. Breed sits in a tie for 76th at 15-over-par 159 entering the final round.
Tennessee moved up two spots on day two to gain a two-stroke lead on the weekend at 8-over-par 584. Florida State and North Carolina both shot a second-round best 1-over-par 289 on Saturday with Florida State moving in to second at 10-over-par 586 and North Carolina jumping six spots to third at 14-over-par 590. Ohio State sits in fourth at 15-over-par 591 while South Carolina rounds out the top five at 16-over-par 592.
Junior Ashleigh Albrecht improved two strokes from day one with a 4-over-par 76 on Saturday. Albrecht's six birdies on the weekend leave her in a tie for 49th at 10-over-par 154. Junior Heather Lott currently sits in a tie for 39th after shooting an 8-over-par 80 on the second day in Greensboro. With two birdies on Saturday, Lott is tied for the team lead at six birdies through two rounds.
Junior Betsie Johnson shot a 9-over-par 81 on the second day, currently sitting in a tie for 65th at 156. Senior Ashlee Rose shot a 13-over-par 85 to leave her in 86th at 20-over-par 164 on the weekend.
The final round of the 2012 Bryan National Collegiate will begin Sunday, April 8th at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
