Women's Golf Places Seventh at Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team concluded the regular season with a seventh place at the Rebel Intercollegiate on Saturday afternoon at the Ole Miss Golf Course. Kentucky finished with a team score of 19-over par, 883.
Due to the possibility of inclement weather on Sunday, teams played the final 36 holes on Saturday. The Wildcats posted team scores of 8-over par, 296, and 3-over par, 291, in the second and final rounds. GRU Augusta won the team title at 7-over par, 871, while Kennesaw State (+10), Tulane (+12), Texas State (+12) and East Tennessee State (+16) completed the top five. GRU Augusta’s Jessica Haigwood won the individual championship with a score of 6-under par, 210.
Continuing her solid play this spring, freshman Haley Mills recorded her third straight top 20 finish by tying for 16th at 4-over par, 220 (74-74-72). Mills started the day by shooting a 2-over par, 74, in the second round and finished with her best round of the tournament, an even par, 72, on the final 18 holes.
Sophomore Sarah Harris just missed a top 20 finish, as the Hermitage, Tenn., native tied for 25th at 6-over par, 222 (74-76-72). Harris was one of three Wildcats to card a 72 in the final round Saturday afternoon, after starting the day with a 4-over par, 76, in the second round.
Two Wildcats tied for 33rd at 7-over par, 223, in senior Liz Breed and freshman Alessandra Walker. Breed posted rounds of 74 and 72 on Saturday to climb up the leaderboard after starting the day tied for 56th. Walker collected back-to-back rounds of 75 to end the tournament.
Sophomore Cylia Damerau tied for 39th with a score of 9-over par, 225 (75-73-77). Damerau registered her best round to start the day with a 1-over par, 73.
