Dunlap Named Finalist for State Farm Coaches' All-America Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior forward Victoria Dunlap has been selected as one of the top 40 finalists for the 2010 State Farm Coaches' All-America Team as announced by The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with State Farm. The finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA-member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team. Dunlap, the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year by The Associated Press and the league's coaches, earned a spot on the elite 40-member list after leading UK on both sides of the ball this season with averages of 17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. She is the only player to rank among the SEC's top five in scoring and rebounding and she also ranks in the league's top 10 in seven other statistical categories. A standout defensive player, Dunlap is among the nation's leaders in steals (11th -3.2) and blocks (41st - 2.0). She has set a new single-season school record of 65 blocks and is currently tied for first on UK's single-season steals list with 104. Offensively, Dunlap has led the Wildcats in scoring 18 times, has posted eight double-doubles and scored 20 or more points 14 times this season. Dunlap is one of seven SEC players represented on the list along with Allison Hightower from LSU, Alexis Rack from Mississippi State, Bianca Thomas from Ole Miss and Angie Bjorlund, Kelley Cain and Shekinna Stricklen from Tennessee. Led by Dunlap, the Wildcats (27-7) have advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since 1982. The fourth-seeded Cats will face top-seeded Nebraska (32-1) Sunday, March 28 at approximately 10 p.m. ET in the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
