On why he chose to come to Kentucky …

“I think the main thing that sold me was the team atmosphere and the coaches. I met Matt (Emery) last summer and I had a good relationship with both of the coaches before I came here. When I came here on my visit and met with some of the players on my team, I really like it a lot.”

On how the first couple of months have gone …

“I like it a lot. I have really enjoyed the team so far and I am having a lot of fun through the first couple of months.”

On his family back home in Germany …

“I have one sister that is one year younger than me. She is still going to high school. My whole family is tennis players, so it was fun for me to grow up in a tennis family.”

On the biggest adjustment to being a freshman in college …

“I have learned to take care of everything by myself. It has been different being all by myself in the dorms and having to learn to be independent.”

On the biggest asset to his game …

“I would say my forehand is my biggest strength right now, especially when I attach the forehand with a cross-court shot. I’m a lefty so I feel like I carry a lot of spin from my forehand to the opponent’s backhand.”

On what he needs to improve on …

“I think I need to work on playing consistent. Sometimes I will play good, and other times I will struggle with small mistakes and that affects the way that I play. So, I am looking to get more consistent in all of my play.”

On his goals for the spring …

“My main goal is to play in the spring. It is a high goal of mine, but I am excited to be a part of this team and to work with this coaching staff to get my game to a level where I can play and compete at the highest level.”
