No. 14 Soccer Hosts Michigan
LEXINGTON Ė The 14th-ranked Kentucky menís soccer team returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Michigan at 7 p.m. at the UK Soccer Complex.
The Wildcats have been on a tear this season, outscoring opponents a ridiculous 22-2 while boasting the nationís leading offense at 3.67 goals per game. Senior striker has led the charge with an NCAA best nine goals, including two in each of his last two outings.
On the defensive end, UK has been its traditionally stingy self, holding foes to a mere 0.32 goals per game average, which ranks 11th nationally. Dating back four games, the Wildcats have not allowed a goal in 317:16 while recording three shutouts.
At 5-0-1, Kentucky is off to the best start in school history and is just one win shy of its season total from a year ago. Going back to last season, the Wildcats are riding a seven-game unbeaten streak.
The meeting is the third in the series which dates back to 2004. In each of the previous two, Michigan has scored a 1-0 overtime victory. Last year, UK had a player sent off early in the second half before falling.
