University Club of Kentucky
The golf program at the University of Kentucky has a new home at the University Club of Kentucky. The University Club is a members-only club privately licensed by UK. Beginning in 2002, the course will be the official home of the men's and women's golf teams and will host all of UK's future tournaments.
Internationally renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills designed the renovations to the 36-hole Championship course. Each 18-hole course will be approximately 7,000 yards in length and stretch across over 300 acres of rolling terrain. The courses are complimented by a dozen lakes and ponds providing the player with a beautiful and challenging round of golf.
University Club's are currently in place at other Southeastern Conference schools such as South Carolina, Auburn and Alabama. However, this club boasts many other features that will make it one of the premier University Clubs in the nation. Accompanying the beauty of the course will be two state-of-the-art practice facilities for UK's golf teams. The club will include a grille, lockerrooms and a fully stocked pro shop.
The "U-Club" will be the future venue of the Southeastern Conference Championship and other significant events. The clubhouse is filled with UK memorabilia and contains private meeting rooms that will serve to host a variety of University related conferences, events and meetings.
The Club is located at 4850 Leestown Rd., 7.4 miles northeast of downtown Lexington in Fayette County Convenient to I-64 and I-74, the facility will be managed by a professional staff, giving preference to UK graduates and supporters.
