Opelika, Ala. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team travels to Opelika, Ala., where they will compete in the Tiger Invitational March 11-12 at the Grand National – Lake Course. The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play event with 36 holes being completed on Monday beginning at 9 a.m. ET with a shotgun start. The final round of 18 will conclude on Tuesday.
UK’s tentative lineup will feature seniors Chase Parker and Joseph Barr, juniors Cody Martin, Stephen Powers and Ben Stow, along with sophomore Will Bishop. One of the six Wildcats will be participating as an individual.
Kentucky has competed in two tournaments this spring, finishing 10th at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and seventh at the USF Invitational.
“We have back-to-back events over spring break starting with Auburn’s Invitational and ending with the Schenkel Invitational,” head coach Brian Craig said. “Both competitions have high quality fields and will be excellent challenges for our team. I have total confidence in this team. We are ready to play our best and I can’t wait to get these competitions under way. One thing is for certain, we will give great effort throughout this two tournament stretch and continue to work toward our goal of improving every day.”
The Wildcats will compete against 14 teams in the invitational, including Auburn, Charlotte, East Carolina, Houston, Kennesaw State, North Carolina, Memphis, Mississippi State, Samford, South Alabama, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Troy, Wake Forest and Yale.
