  • The Wildcats improve to 1-1; South Florida falls to 1-1.
  • UK is now 85-20-4 in home openers.
  • Kentucky had 527 yards of total offense, the first time the Cats have tallied more than 500 yards of total offense since recording 501 yards vs. Connecticut on Sept. 11, 1999.
  • UK had 28 first downs, the most since tallying 26 against Indiana last season.
  • This is the first time a UK defense has held an opponent below 100 yards passing since EKU (41 yards) in 1998.
  • The UK offense did not allow a sack against the South Florida defense, a first in the Hal Mumme era.
  • QB Jared Lorenzen finished the game 30-of-57 for 382 yards, one interception and three TDs.
  • It was the second straight game Lorenzen has thrown for at least 300 yards and three TDs.
  • RS freshman Derek Abney caught two TD passes - 19 and 27 yards; his first career TD receptions.
  • True freshman Chad Scott (RB) rushed 14 times for 106 yards. It was the first 100-yard rushing game for a UK true freshman since Derek Homer achieved the feat against Tennessee (137 yards) in 1997. It was the first 100-yard rushing effort by any Wildcat since Anthony White vs. Indiana last season.
  • RB Derek Homer finished with six receptions for 55 yards. He now has 99 career receptions, which moves him into fifth place on the all-time UK list.
  • LB Marlon McCree recorded 10 tackles, the second time in his career he's recorded double-figure tackles.
  • WR Quentin McCord had six receptions for 120 yards and a TD, his second consecutive game to catch a TD pass. It was his first career 100-yard receiving game.
  • First career starts for DE Otis Grigsby and C Keith Chatelain.


  • UK QB Jared Lorenzen set new passing records for a USF opponent:
  • Lorenzen's attempts (57), receptions (30) and yards (382) were all USF opponent records.
  • South Florida traveled 66 players and 51 played in the first quarter alone. A total of 54 Bulls saw action.
  • This is the first time USF has ever worn white jerseys over green pants.
  • P Bill Gramatica recorded his first career punt.
  • P Devin Sanderson recorded a career-long 52-yard punt. It was the second consecutive game he achieved that feat.
  • DE John Brown made his first appearance in a game for South Florida.
