Team Records and Series Notes

• This was the season opener for both teams.
• Kentucky began its 119 th season of intercollegiate football.  UK has an all-time record of 81-33-5 in season openers.
• Kentucky won its third-consecutive season opener, UK's longest season-opening streak since winning eight in a row from 1987-94.
• Kentucky leads the series 7-4-1.  The Wildcats have won two in a row vs. Miami.
• Kentucky is now 24-7-1 vs. teams from the current alignment of the Mid-American Conference.
• Kentucky has won 15 consecutive non-conference games, the longest since a 17-game streak from 1954-60.
• After an open date, Kentucky returns to action Sat. Sept. 19 at home vs. Louisville.  The game is set for a Noon start and will be televised by ESPNU.

UK Team Notes

• Today's win was the largest margin of victory in a shutout since defeating Kent State, 42-0, in 1984. This was also UK's biggest win in a season opener since the '84 Kent State game.
• The last Kentucky shutout was November 16, 1996 vs. Vanderbilt (25-0).
• The Wildcats totaled 29 first downs and 488 yards on offense (245 rush, 243 pass). That's the highest total since totaling 29 first downs and 501 yards vs. Florida State in the 2007 Music City Bowl (12/31/07).
• Kentucky converted 11-of-18 third downs. That's the highest number of 3 rd down conversions since converting 12-of-21 vs. Florida (10/20/07)
• UK held Miami to 10 first downs. The last time UK held an opponent to 10 or fewer first downs was 8 vs. Western Kentucky (9/27/08).
• UK held Miami to 2-of-15 on third down conversions. That's the lowest percentage of 3 rd down conversions since 1-of-13 vs. Norfolk State (9/6/08).
• The Wildcats controlled the ball for 36:25 on the clock, a UK best since posting 36:32 time of possession vs. Florida on Sept. 27, 2003.
• UK scored 21 points in the second quarter for the first time since posting 21 points vs. Florida Atlantic on 9/29/07.
• Kentucky totaled 245 rushing yards and 243 passing yards. It's the first time UK totaled over 200 yards rushing and passing since 9/29/07 vs. Florida Atlantic.
• UK totaled 49 rushes on the day, the highest total since 56 rushes vs. Georgia (11/8/08)
