Has moved from left guard to right tackle for the 2012 season ... Will compete with senior Trevino Woods for the position ... Redshirted as a tackle in 2009, then played guard the next two seasons ... Also has experience on the field-goal and extra-point units ... Has good athleticism for a player his size ... 2011 (Sophomore): Played in nine games, including his first collegiate start in the season-opening win vs. Western Kentucky University.
2010 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in nine games for the Wildcats, mostly on special teams, coming in as a big body up front on field goals and extra points ... Also played as a reserve guard.
2009 (Freshman): Redshirted.
High School: First-team all-state for Georgia Class AAAA by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ... Good athlete for a player his size, as he has been timed just under 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash ... Three-year starter at Alexander HS in Douglasville, Ga. ... Started at tight end as a sophomore, tackle as a junior and guard as a senior ... Also got some playing time in the defensive line ... Two-year selection to the All-Douglas County team ...Coached by Kenny Palmer ... "Kevin has great feet and great speed for a player his size," Palmer said. "He's a hard worker who will develop into an SEC player." ... Played center for the school's basketball team.
