Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is 7-0 and St. John’s is 5-3.
  • Kentucky leads the series, 11-5, and is 169-73 all-time against teams from the Big East.
  • UK returns to action with a home game Saturday, at Noon against No. 5 North Carolina. The game will be televised on CBS.

First Half Notes

  • Kentucky started with the lineup of Marquis Teague, Doron Lamb, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones and Anthony Davis for the sixth-straight game.
  • Despite struggling from the field and hitting just three of its first 14 shot attempts, Kentucky’s defense went to work, forcing 11 turnovers, including five shot clock violations.
  • The Cats, as a team, had 10 blocks, including seven from Anthony Davis.
  • Trailing 4-5, UK went on a 12-0 run for a 16-5 lead. Four different Wildcats scored during the run and UK never trailed again.
  • It was the third time this season Kentucky held an opponent to 20 points or less in the first half.
  • Kentucky led 31-20 at halftime.

Second Half Notes

  • Kentucky went on a 7-2 run to start the second half with five straight points from Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

  • The Wildcats extended their home winning streak to 38 games, including the 2009 NIT game at Memorial Coliseum and the last 37 games at Rupp Arena.
  • UK is a perfect 37-0 under Coach John Calipari at Rupp Arena, the longest win streak in venue history.
  • UK owns a 463-60 all-time record in Rupp Arena.

  • Terrence Jones led the Wildcats with a season-high 26 points.
    • After scoring a career-low six points vs. Old Dominion, Jones has scored 17, 16 and 26 in his last three games.
    • Most points in a game since he scored a career-high 35 vs. Auburn on Jan. 11, 2011.
    • First 20-point performance since scoring 25 vs. Vanderbilt on Feb. 12, 2011
    • Charted a career-high tying four blocks and four steals
    • Notched career highs in free-throws made (11) and attempted (16)
  • Anthony Davis had 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and second consecutive.
    • First player to record consecutive double-doubles since Terrence Jones vs. South Carolina on Feb. 19, 2011 (17 points/10 rebounds) and Mississippi State on Feb. 15, 2011 (17 points, 10 rebounds)
    • His 15 rebounds is the 10th most by a freshmen (tied with several others)
    • Swatted a career-high eight blocks, including five in the first half
  • Doron Lamb scored 16 points, his fifth double-figure scoring output of the season.
  • Darius Miller dished out a career-high tying six assists.
