2001-02
Played in every game with 18 starts as a junior, including the last seven games... Has 117 blocks in his three-year career which ranks 9th all-time at UK... Was given the “Most Positive” award by the coaching staff... Had 11 points against Valpo in NCAA first-round action and followed with an eight-point, five-rebound performance against Tulsa... Had 10 points, seven rebounds and a block against Maryland... Averaged 9.7 ppg and 5.3 rpg during the three tournament games... Scored six points, grabbed seven rebounds and had one steal against Florida (3/2)... Led UK against Tennessee (2/19) with a career effort, connecting on 8-of-13 shots to score 17 points... Missed the 2001 season after violating UKAA rules... Played in 31 games with 11 starts as a sophomore, including starting assignments in both NCAA Tournament games… Ranked fifth in the SEC in blocked shots (1.6 bpg) and totaled 12 swats in the last four games… Against SEC competition, finished the regular season ranked second in blocked shots (1.9 bpg) and 10th in offensive rebounding (2.8 rpg)… Shared the team’s Most Improved Player Award with J.P. Blevins… Returned to action against LSU after missing two games due to a “stress reaction” in his right foot suffered during the first Tennessee game (2/1/00), his first UK game missed due to injury… In his third game back, scored 12 points and pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds, including a personal-best nine offensive boards, in a start vs. Georgia (2/19/00), his second double-double of the season… Vs. Saw action in all 37 games as a freshman, averaging 4.4 ppg and 3.2 rpg while shooting 53.3 percent from the field… In the NCAA Tournament, averaged 4.8 ppg and 3.2 rpg while playing 12.2 mpg… Selected as the team’s “Most Positive” player… Had 10 points and six rebounds vs. Georgia (2/17/99), scoring in double figures for the fourth time… Against LSU, played 17 minutes, scoring nine points and hitting his second three-pointer of the season… Had six points, six rebounds and two steals vs. Miss. Averaged 15.1 ppg, 9.7 rebounds and 3.7 bpg in helping Oak Hill Academy to a 29-2 record in 1998 and a No. 5 ranking nationally… Shot 62.4 percent from the field, 78.8 percent from the foul line… Ranked as one of the top-30 prep players by recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons… Following his senior campaign, participated in the Nike Hoop Summit in San Antonio, the McDonald’s Capitol Classic All-Star Game in Washington, D.C. and the Kentucky Derby Classic in Louisville… During the season, earned all-tournament recognition in the Oregon Holiday Classic, the Virginia Tip-Off Classic and the Ryle Raider Classic, where he also was named MVP… As a senior, he won the Rebounding Award, the Coach’s Award and was named to the National Honor Society and voted “Mr. Oak Hill Academy”… As a junior, he averaged 8.1 ppg and 7.1 rpg while Oak Hill finished with a 30-5 record and a No. 22 ranking nationally… His junior season was his first in the United States after playing two years of organized basketball in West Africa… Also played soccer and tennis at Oak Hill… Chose UK over Virginia and South Carolina.
