Baseball Inks Nine In Fall Signing Period

LEXINGTON, Kty. - The University of Kentucky baseball program signed nine newcomers for the 2001 season in the fall signing period, Coach Keith Madison announced Wednesday.
Among the signees is Aaron Herr, son of former St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Tommy Herr. Herr, a shortstop from Lancaster, Pa., has been rated as the 37th-best high school prospect by Baseball America and is widely considered one of the nation's top talents.
Also inking with the Cats was Louisville Ballard's Spencer Graeter. Graeter is a leading candidate for Kentucky Mr. Baseball and was the starting point guard on Ballard's state championship basketball squad last spring.
