LEXINGTON, Ky. -- After improving to 24-1 on the year with a series win at Tennessee over the weekend, Kentucky has climbed to No. 10 in the latest Baseball America top-25, it was announced on Monday morning.

Kentucky (24-1, 5-1 Southeastern Conference) has ascended to the second highest ranking in a Baseball America poll in program history, with a No. 8 ranking on May 8, 2006 checking in as the best mark in school history. UK claimed the first SEC Championship in program history in 2006, winning a school-record 44 games.

The Wildcats completed a series win over the weekend at Tennessee, also notching a win over Cincinnati in the Queen City during the midweek. Kentucky’s 24-1 overall record leads the nation, while its 5-1 record in league action is the best since starting 7-0 to open conference play in 1992, with UK tied atop of the conference standings after two weeks with No. 1 ranked Florida. UK’s 24-1 start is its best in school history, with a 22-game winning streak to open the campaign tops in program annals and second-best in the storied history of the SEC.

Kentucky returns to action on Tuesday, hosting Western Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the UK IMG Radio Network, with Dick Gabriel calling the action. Fans in Lexington can hear the game live on WGVN 1580-AM, in Louisville on WKJK 1080-AM and online at UKathletics.com.
