Kavanagh and Limpert Compete at NCAA Outdoor Championships
Meet begins Wednesday in Durham, N.C.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Seniors Matt Kavanagh and Jeff Limpert will represent the University of Kentucky track and field squad at the 2000 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 31-June 3, 2000, at Wallace Wade Stadium on the campus of Duke University.
Kavanagh enters this year's championships vying for his third All-America honor in the hammer throw. His best toss of the season, 218-03.00, ranks 10th nationally and second in the Southeastern Conference. As a sophomore, Kavanagh earned his first All-American honor with an 11th place throw of 209-11.00, and garnered his second in 1999 with a seventh-place heave of 221-04.00, breaking the UK record.
Limpert earned a spot in the NCAA Championships with a personal-best effort in the 800-meter run of 1:48.39. The time ranks 14th in the nation and third in the SEC, while moving him into third place on the school's all-time top-10 list. Limpert earned All-America honors in the 800 meters at the 1999 NCAA Indoor Championships and is the UK record holder indoors.
Limpert takes the track on Thursday, May 31 in the preliminaries of the
800 meters at 7:25 p.m., with the finals taking place on Friday. Kavanagh
will see action on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m.
