LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off a successful second day at the Rod McCravy Memorial on Saturday, the University of Kentucky men’s and women’s track and field teams are heading north to compete in the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Feb. 3-4.

Entering its 25th year of existence, the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational boasts elite teams and athletes from all over the country with over 40 schools competing this year. The meet begins Friday at 4 p.m. ET with the women’s long jump.

Keilah Tyson, the reigning Southeastern Conference Women’s Freshman of the Week, will compete in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash Friday at 5:50 p.m. Tyson broke an 18-year-old freshman record last weekend at the Rod McCravy Memorial when she ran a 7.36 in the 60m dash. Tyson broke former UK great and U.S. Olympian Passion Richardson’s record. Freshman sprinter Tamyah Pipkin will also be competing in the 60m dash. The top 12 fastest times will compete in the finals set for Saturday at 3:20 p.m.

Junior Darryl Bradshaw, sophomore Brandon Bagley and freshman Daniel Buckles will compete in the men’s 60m hurdles Friday, as sophomore Kayla Parker competes in the women’s 60m hurdles. Bradshaw has the sixth-fastest time in the SEC in the 60m hurdles, running a season-best 8.05 at the Rod McCravy Memorial. Bradshaw and Bagley will race in the 60m dash later Friday evening.

The Kentucky distance runners will also see action on the meet’s opening day, as senior Walter Luttrell will compete in the men’s 5,000m run. Sophomore Katy Achtien and senior Megan Broderick are racing in the women’s 1,000m run, while senior Trent Halasek will race in the men’s 1,000m run.

The Wildcats will also race in the men’s and women’s distance medley relays Friday evening.

In the field events, freshman Candice Taylor, Tyson and sophomore Kayla Parker will compete in the long jump. Senior Jennifer Svoboda is entered in the women’s weight throw, and sophomore Andrew Evans is in the men’s weight throw.

One week after recording the second-best high jump in school history, senior Terri-Ann Grant will compete again Friday trying to up her new career high of 1.82m/5-11.50. Joining Grant will be freshman Joanne Imbert, who recorded a career-high jump of 1.76m/5-09.25, the fourth-highest mark in school history, last weekend.

A link to live stats for Friday and Saturday’s meet will be made available on UND.com just prior to the beginning of the meet Friday. For more Kentucky track and field news and information, follow the Wildcats on Twitter at “KentuckyTrack” and go to UKathletics.com.
