PHILADELPHIA - The University of Kentucky track and field teams closed out competition at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday, April 26. The team competed in the women's and men's 4 x 800 meter relay teams in the event's final day, taking second and third, respectively.

The women's team, comprised of Roseline Addo, Beth Heimann, Candace Leep and Brooke Patterson, finished second in its race with a time of 8:31.24. The men's team of Hunter Spencer, Paul Ciurlys, James Doaty and David Freeman crossed the line in 7:18.77, setting a new school record. The previous record of 7:19.10 was set at the Penn Relays in 2000 by Spencer, Thomas Morgan, Chad Johnson and Jeff Limpert.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, May 2, at the Stanford Cardinal Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
