LEXINGTON, Ky. - Paced by a first- and third-place performance in the men's discus by sophomores Andrew Evans and Isiah Kent, and a first-place mark in the women's high jump by senior Terri-Ann Grant, the Kentucky men's and women's track and field teams closed out day two of the Polytan Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.

Evans, a Portage, Mich., native, won the men's discus throw with a mark of 53.71m/176-02. Not far behind, Kent finished third with a career-best mark of 52.29m/171-07.

In the women's high jump, senior Terri-Ann Grant finished first with a mark of 1.79m/5-10.50.

Fellow senior Jennifer Svoboda had a season-best mark in the women's shot put. Svoboda finished fourth with a mark of 15.46m/50-08.75. Svoboda's mark was just three inches shy of her career-best mark set in 2008.

Kentucky had a strong day in the men's 800-meter run. Senior Trent Halasek ran a career-best race, finishing in third with a career-best time of 1:51.35. Freshman Keffri Neal, racing in the 800m for the first time in the outdoor season, finished sixth with a time of 1:51.88. Senior Josh Nadzam and sophomore Robert Scharold finished 12th and 13th, respectively.

Another career-best mark earned Sunday was from freshman Brittany Britt. The Valdosta, Ga., native finished eighth in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.29m/17-04.25.
