LEXINGTON, Kty. - Macon White, a member of the University of Kentucky men's swimming team, was named the Southeastern Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week today by the SEC office.

White, a junior native of Huntington, W. Va., swam his best unshaved time in the 200-yard freestyle last Saturday, en route to UK's 137-103 victory over USC. White's time of 1:38.75 met the NCAA "B" time standard of 1:39.28 and is the second fastest time ever swam at UK in the event. White holds the team record in the 200 freestyle.

"We are really excited for Macon, and he is very deserving of this award," UK coach Gary Conelly said.
