Miller And Moss Shine For The Wildcat Swimmers

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of Kentucky swimming and diving teams continued its success on the second day of the Nike Cup Invitational on the UNC campus.
Kelley Miller had another outstanding day, finishing second in the finals of the 200-yard freestyle. Miller met the NCAA "B" qualifying time standard with a time of 1:50.28. In the same event, sophomore Tracy Sullivan placed fifth with a time of 1:52.18.
Senior Jennifer Clifford placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.03.
In the women's one-meter diving competition, freshman Kelli Frost placed fourth with a score of 375.35 followed by teammates Carrie Knoeber in fifth place, Sarah Fields in sixth, and Michelle Glowatch in seventh.
The UK women's 200 medley relay comprised of Sarah Carter, Clifford, Emily Buske, and Lisa Beavers finished fourth overall.
On the men's side, freshman Clayton Moss captured his second diving event of the meet with a win on the three-meter event. Moss, a native of Moultrie, Ga., finished with a score of 553.40.
Junior David Tweedie just missed a personal best time in the finals of the 200 freestyle, finishing second in a time of 1:40.36.
The UK women's team currently is in third place going into the last day of competition, while the UK men's team sits in sixth place.
The final day of the Nike Cup meet begins Saturday with preliminaries in the morning and the finals in the evening.
