Sarah Dunleavy is in her first season as an assistant coach at Kentucky after spending the 2012-13 season at Illinois State as a graduate assistant.
A native of Bethel Park, Pa., near Pittsburgh, Dunleavy helped elevate Illinois State to new heights in just one season. The Redbirds broke 15 school records and two conference records during the 2012-13 season.
Prior to her time at ISU, Dunleavy spent her final collegiate semester as a volunteer assistant at Purdue after a highly successful four years as a student-athlete. With the Boilermakers, Dunleavy was a team captain and a three-time All-Big Ten Academic honoree. Additionally, she was the recipient of the athletic department's John Wooden Leadership Award and the team's Cathy Wright-Eger Educational Excellence Award recipient. She competed primarily in individual medley and freestyle events along with multiple relay squads.
In high school, Dunleavy competed in several national-level competitions and was a 15-time Pennsylvania All-American.
