University of Kentucky Cheerleading Clinic
The University of Kentucky Cheerleading program has organized a clinic to help you prepare for true coed stunting and also get you ready for college cheerleading tryouts. This clinic has been developed to help individuals who plan to make the transition from high school to college cheerleading. At this clinic, you will get help with coed stunt techniques, tumbling, baskets, and interview skills.
You will benefit greatly from this clinic if you are interested in trying out as a college cheerleader anywhere across the nation and especially at UK. The techniques and skills that we will help you develop will give you a big head start over your competitors.
At this clinic, you can expect training by former and current members of the Twenty-One Time National Champion University of Kentucky Cheerleaders. The clinic is conducted in a low-pressure, safe, and fun environment on the University of Kentucky’s campus.
Jomo K. Thompson, head coach of the 21-time National Champion squad, along with T. Lynn Williamson, the architect of the cheer program, who has advised and developed the UK Cheer program for the past 39 years, will help with advice and answer any questions or concerns that you might have about the tryout procedure.
The clinic will be held on April 16 & 17, 2016 from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday and from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Seaton Center Gymnastics Room. Lunch will be provided there on Sunday only. (Lunch this year will be a much healthier option. Lunch will be offered at our brand new, state of the art dining facility called “The 90.” The cost of the lunch will be Ten Dollars ($10). If you chose not to get the lunch you will be responsible for lunch yourself.
Attached are a registration form, an application and a release form. The cost of the clinic alone is $200.00.
*If you can only participate one day, the cost of the clinic will be $125.
The application will be used to help us evaluate each individual and separate you into groups by skill level in order to better benefit you at the clinic (please be honest). All materials must be completed and returned with proof of medical insurance along with the clinic fee by:
