UKTF Completes Olympic Team Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – Kentucky concluded a few weeks of Olympic Trials across the world with now six Wildcats qualified for athletics events at the 2016 Olympic Games to be contested in Rio de Janeiro next month.

2016 NCAA 110-meter hurdles Silver Medalist Nick Anderson ran 13.95 into a -0.3 headwind in the semifinals of his first United States Olympic Track and Field Team Trials on Saturday at Hayward Field.

Anderson wrapped up competition at U.S. Trials for the Wildcats on Saturday, as he placed sixth in his semifinal heat, and 18th overall.

Leah Nugent qualified for Rio in the 400m hurdles at Jamaica Trials, last Saturday.

Alumni Rondel Sorrillo, a UK volunteer assistant coach who trains in Lexington, and Mikel Thomas both qualified for the Olympics at the Trinidad and Tobago trials.
