STARKVILLE, Miss. - Led by a strong defense, a balanced offense and a double-double from sophomore Anni Thomasson, the Kentucky volleyball team recorded a 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-22) win at Mississippi State Sunday.

The Wildcats (24-5, 13-3 Southeastern Conference) dominated in a 25-10 win in the first set and held the Bulldogs (7-24, 2-14 SEC) to the fewest points in a set by a UK opponent this season. After a 25-15 win in the second set, UK battled for a 25-22 win in the final frame.

I'm proud of the defensive effort and the efficiency on offense today," UK head coach Craig Skinner said. "Jackie [Napper] and Anni really did a good job of controlling the ball and controlling the tempo of what we wanted to do. Morgan [Bergren] did a nice job of managing the offense and getting a lot of people involved to contribute to our hitting efficiency."
