Three Wildcats in ITA Preseason Rankings

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Kentucky women's tennis team features three members, junior Kelsey Dieters, senior Caitlin McGraw and sophomore Nadia Ravita, selected to compete in the 2013 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships and ranked in the preseason rankings.

"We are very excited to see three of our players being selected to such a prestigious tournament," UK head coach Carlos Drada said. "We look forward to great competition, which will help us the set the stage for a great fall season."

Following an historic freshman season that included 20 singles wins, Ravita has been ranked 26th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association women's preseason singles rankings, while also earning one of 23 spots in the ITA Women's All-American Championship main draw.

Ravita's ranking is the highest preseason ranking for a Wildcat since Kim Coventry opened the 2006 season ranked 15th.

Transfer Kelsey Dieters was also recognized in the ITA's preseason rankings, sitting at No. 55 heading into the season. Dieters received a bid for the qualifying draw in singles at the ITA Women's All-American Championship.

As a sophomore at Ohio State, Dieters opened the 2012-13 season ranked 41st and remained ranked throughout the entirety of the season. She spent the majority of her sophomore season in the No. 1 singles slot for the Buckeyes, taking nine matches from court one

In doubles, Ravita and McGraw enter the season ranked 32nd nationally and the duo received a qualifying draw in the ITA Women's All-American Championship doubles competition

Ravita and McGraw spent much of last season paired in the No. 1 doubles slot, winning nine matches in the spring, including three Southeastern Conference contests.

For the 29th year, the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., will serve as the host site for the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. The national event is set to begin on Saturday, September 28 with pre-qualifying singles and doubles matches, which will once again be hosted by UCLA. Main draw action is slated for Thursday, October 3-6.
