Kentucky Women's Tennis Hosts Vanderbilt

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will return home following four consecutive road matches to host No. 18 Vanderbilt on Friday at noon at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex.

The Wildcats are 12-9 on the year, going 3-7 in Southeastern Conference contests. Kentucky is coming off a four-match road trip, facing four top-30 opponents, including two ranked in the top 10. Freshman Nadia Ravita is ranked 24th in the country and has now defeated seven ranked opponents on the year.

Kentucky currently sits 47th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s latest rankings.

Vanderbilt boasts a similar record as UK, going 12-9 to this point in the season, 5-5 in conference matches. The Commodores went 1-1 this past weekend, falling 4-3 to No. 8 Alabama while defeating No. 22 Auburn 5-2. Lauren Mira and Georgina Sellyn represent Vanderbilt in the ITA’s latest singles rankings, with Mira ranking 61st and Sellyn sitting in 83rd.

The Wildcats will have Sunday off and then cap off the regular season the following weekend with home matches against No. 2 Florida and No. 29 South Carolina.
