LEXINGTON, Ky. - The UK women's soccer team received the Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) after posting a 3.37 team grade-point-average.

During the 2010 season, UK posted the highest team semester grade point average in program history, with a 3.419.

The honor is awarded to programs than have a collective GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2010-11 academic year.

The Wildcats showed drastic improvement on the field in 2011, the third year of the Jon Lipsitz era. Kentucky made a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006 and hosted the first round for the first time since the 1998 season.
