Michaela Dooley Named CollegeSoccer360 `Primetime Performer'
LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Kentucky women's soccer player Michaela Dooley was named a CollegeSoccer360.com `Primetime Performer' for the week of Sept. 1-7, being named one of the 11 best players in the nation over the weekend, it was announced by the website on Tuesday afternoon.
Dooley scored the game-winning goal on Friday night in the 84th minute on a beautiful header from Danielle Fitzgerald, as well as assisting on the insurance goal just three minutes later in the 87th minute for her second multi-point match of her UK career.
The sophomore transfer added to her career-best weekend on Sunday afternoon, scoring a goal in the 31st minute to put UK ahead 3-0 over Morehead State as the Wildcats went on to sweep the weekend, and move to 5-1-0 on the season.
Dooley has come in and made an immediate impact on the Wildcats potent offense through the first three weekends of the season, scoring three goals and assisting on four goals, for 10 points on the young season. Dooley only trails MAC Hermann Award finalist Arin Gilliland in that category.
The Paradise Valley, Ariz., native is ranked in the Southeastern Conference in multiple categories, including fourth in points (10), sixth points per game (1.67), eighth in goals (3), fourth in assists (4) and fifth in assists per game (0.67).
Kentucky, who recently vaulted into the nation's top-25 at No. 24 in Monday's rankings, will host No. 12 Pepperdine in a stand-alone weekend for UK on Sunday afternoon at the UK Soccer Complex. First touch is at Noon ET.
