Women's Golf Concludes Mercedes-Benz Women's Championship With 937

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Kentucky women's golf team concluded the Mercedes-Benz Women's Championship at Fox Den C.C. in Knoxville, Tenn., with a 17th-place 937 (322-309-306) Sunday.

Freshman Ashleigh Albrecht recorded the Cat's low round of the event with a 13-over-par 229 (82-72-75). Albrecht's even-par 72 in the second round marked Kentucky's low performance of the tournament. With a 75 on the final day, Albrecht also recorded the team's low score in the last round.

Betsie Johnson posted a 231 (78-77-76) on the tournament and the freshman shot Kentucky's low score in the first round with a 78.

Senior Sara Hurwitch finished with a 238 (82-80-76), while sophomore Ashlee Rose registered a 244 (80-81-83). Freshman Heather Lott rounded out Kentucky's starting five with a 247 (88-80-79).

Host No. 18 Tennessee took the tournament title, shooting a 4-over-par 868 (283-291-294). Nathalie Mansson was the top individual with a 3-under-par 213 (71-71-71). Mansson defeated Louisville's Larua Anderson (72-70-71) in a five-hole sudden-death playoff.

Kentucky returns to action Nov. 2-3 in Austin, Texas at the Challenge at Onion Creek. The tournament marks the final event of the fall season.
