LEXINGTON, Ky. – Led by sophomore Ashleigh Albrecht, the Kentucky women’s golf team recorded its second lowest round of the spring season on Sunday with a 2-over par 290 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.

Albrecht, the Wildcats season leader in scoring average, fired a 1-under par 71 on Sunday, a 10-stroke improvement from her second round score. Teeing off on the 16th hole, Albrecht recorded three birdies, beginning with the par 5 seventh. The Murrieta, Calif., native bogeyed holes nine and 10 though to drop to 1-over par for her round. Albrecht responded with the pressure on by birdying two of her final three holes to finish at 1-under par. Albrecht’s 71 was her third lowest round of the year.

Junior Ashlee Rose shot a 3-over par 75 on Sunday to improve upon her second round score by eight strokes. Sophomore Heather Lott carded a 4-over par 76 and freshman Liz Breed had her best round of the tournament with a 6-over par 78. Sophomore Betsie Johnson shot an 8-over par 80.

The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic was Kentucky’s final tournament of the regular season. The Wildcats will hit the course again in two weeks at the Southeastern Conference Women’s Golf Championships in Auburn, Ala.
