KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Freshman Ashlee Rose leads the University of Kentucky women's golf team after the first 18 holes of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic at Cougar Point Golf Course Sunday.

"Ashlee Rose played an outstanding round today in very difficult, wind swept conditions," head coach Myra Blackwelder said. "Her round was highlighted by a birdie on the last hole and a solid short game all day."

"After the round, the team went over to Oak Point to work on putting and wind shots in preparation for tomorrow," Myra Blackwelder said. "The low 22 teams will make the cut and return to Cougar Point for the final round on Tuesday."
